Airbrush
Airbrush is used to spray murals, graphics, and other artwork on motorcycles and helmets. This art form has been around since at least the fifties, but more recently it has seen an increase in popularity thanks to such shows as Rides and American Chopper. A fine example can be seen here.
Airbrush can be done in color or
combination of colors you desire and
there are infinate design possibilites.
Candies
Candies are finishes that appear almost translucent, as if you were looking into a pool. The further in you look the deeper and richer the color becomes. While the Candy finishes are quite beautiful we generally only recommend such finishes for show bikes and not those that will regularly be on the road.
This is due only to the high expense associated with maintenance and repair.
There are finishing methods
and paints that are as beautiful
but cost far less to maintain.
Powder Coating
Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form.
The coating is typically
applied electrostatically
and is then cured under
heat to allow it to flow
and form a "skin."
